The custody evaluation in the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline custody battle is finally done. It was delivered to attorneys for both sides on Friday. It is several hundred pages long and sources have said it is a "mixed bag," some parts damaging, some parts helpful to Britney. The report was written by Dr. Jane Shatz and is extremely detailed.
The couple are due back in court on May 6th. It is anticipated that Britney will show, although given her track record of not actually attending court hearings, who knows?
A custody evaluation is a court ordered evaluation of each parent. It includes interviews with both parents, family members, friends, employers, employees, daycare providers, anyone who could have information to assist the court. The evaluators are sometimes employees of the court, sometimes private professionals retained by the court. In can also involve psychological testing if the evaluator thinks it is necessary.
The evaluation in this case is sealed, as it probably should be. I'm sure it will be leaked though.
